Art
It's been a while since I made a geeky post just for fun! Considering how hectic this past week has been, I think now is a good time to not think about physical therapy or school!
What are your favorite mediums and styles?
My most favorite way to spend time making art is with pen and ink biological illustrations. In middle school, I tried to draw cartoons like all my friends were but I had a tendency to just keep adding details and ended up with something weird. After taking a biological illustrations class in undergrad, I fully embraced my tendency for drawing realistically. As a bonus, this hobby helps me study for school!
I also enjoy painting! I usually go for acrylic on canvas because it's relatively cheap and is quick to dry. I have fun with oil paints when I have time and money for them and watercolor is neat but I have a difficult time creating something I'm happy with. With these, I typically try to make a reference to a else I enjoy, like in the pictures below.
I have dabbled in pottery, knitting, crocheting, and many other arts and crafts before but the ones I listed above are my faves.
Do you get to make things often?
My free time comes and goes in waves. Right now, that time is basically zero! Over the spring and summer, when I wasn’t in school yet, I was able to finish a few paintings, a couple of larger pictures, and several smaller pictures that I sent off to friends.
Are you crafty or artsy? I'd love to hear about your favorite creative outlets!
